William Verbish Obituary

William J. Verbish, 81, of Walnut Street, Ashland, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his residence.  Born in Locustdale, February 21, 1942, he was the son of Joseph and Carrie Rushow Verbish. He graduated from the former Butler Township High School, Fountain Springs, class of 1959. After high school, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force as a Medical Administration Specialist at the Fort Sheppard Air Force Base Hospital in Texas, until his discharge.  After his service time, he was employed by the Army as a computer operator at Fort Indiantown Gap, and later for the Department of the Navy as a Computer Analyst at Mechanicsburg.  He belonged to the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, now St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland. Preceding him in death was a sister Rose Verbish and brothers, Raymond and Joseph Jr. Verbish.

Sister:  Anne Verbish, Frackville
Cousin:  George Rushow and his wife Ann, Schuylkill Haven 
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christen Burial, October 30, 2023, at 10 AM, in St. Charles Borromeo Parish Church, 11th and Walnut Streets, Ashland.  Celebrant will be Rev. Giuseppe C. Esposito, pastor.  Interment with Air Force Honors will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
