William O. Snyder

William O. Snyder, 69, of High Road, Ashland, passed away Sunday night August 14, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.  Born at the former Ashland State General Hospital, Fountain Springs, he was the son of the late Earl Snyder and Catherine Minnich Snyder, of Frackville.  Bill was of the Protestant faith, and attended Ashland Area High School. Bill was a truck driver for the former Star Products, and retired from Smokey Boylan’s garage, Ashland as a repairman and auto body specialist.  Bill loved the outdoors, and was enthusiastic about camping every summer until his illness this past year.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Violet Wolfgang Snyder, on Jan. 27, 1988 and brother Larry Snyder, in 2013.

Stepdaughter:  Tammy Dietrich, Lavelle

Stepson:  Christopher Bechtel, Minersville

Stepson:  James Bechtel, and wife Dawn, Frackville

Stepson:  Robert Bechtel, and wife Kati, Port Carbon

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 11A.M. from the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre Street, Ashland.  A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9A.M. until the time of service.  Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shephard, Ashland will be officiating.  Interment will follow at the Citizen’s Cemetery, Lavelle.  Visit Fritzfuneralhome.com.
