William J. Blase

William J. Blasé, 63, of Walnut St., Ashland, passed away surrounded by his family, March 7, 2022, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.  Born in at the former Ashland State General Hospital, Fountain Springs, August 6, 1958, he was the son of William and Regina Spieles Blasé.  He was a graduate of the North Schuylkill High School, class of 1976.  Bill was employed for the Rausch Creek Coal Company, Tremont, where he was a supervisor and heavy equipment operator for the Coal Stripping operation.  He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoying the Susquehanna River at Bloomsburg.  Preceding him in death were sisters; Roseann Dutton, passing October 31, 2020, Regina Reiner, passing February 13, 2022, Bernadette Moran, passing in January 10, 2021, also a sister-in-law, Gail Balsavage and a brother-in-law, Robert Frasch.

Wife:  Donna Frasch Blasé, married 42 years

Daughter:  Nicole Blasé and her fiancé Nick Hummel, Ashland

Daughter:  Erica Blasé, and her companion Josh Phelan, Big Mine Run

Son:  Brian Frasch, Ashland

Son:  Gary Blasé and his wife Jasmine, Ashland

Sister:  Ruthanne wife of Thomas Weikel, Gowen City

Sister:  Maryanne wife of Frank Balcavage, Fountain Springs

Sister:  Patricia wife of Buddy Mudlinsky, Orwigsburg

Sister-in Law:  Wendy Hahn, Frackville

Grandchildren:  Bryel, Hayden, Garrett, Isabell, Kaleb, Isaac, Skye, Mikayla, and Loralye.

Nieces and Nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life funeral service, Monday March 14, at 11 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland.  Officiating will be Pastor Sue Hocking of the Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon.  Visitation with family will begin at 9 AM until service.  Memorials may be made to Help Net Ministries, 1005 Centre St., Ashland, PA.  17921.
