Theresa D. Kessler

Theresa (Dot) Kessler, 88, of Locustdale, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, with her beloved family by her side, at the Geisinger Shamokin Community Hospital, Coal Township. Born in the former Ashland State General Hospital, Fountain Springs, June 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth Meyer McDonald.  She was a graduate of the former St. Joseph’s High School, Ashland, class of 1951.  Theresa was a member of the former Saint Mauritius Roman Catholic Church, now Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland.  She was employed as a secretary and purchasing agent for the North Schuylkill High School District, Ashland. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo and Yahtzee whenever she could.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Glenn Kessler passing April 28, 2014, and sisters, Kathleen Brennan passing in 1995, and Elizabeth Taylor passing in 2022.

Daughter:  Dorothy Ann Kessler and her companion Stephen Beckwith, Pittsburg

Son:  John Kessler and his wife Deborah, Selinsgrove

Niece and caregiver:  Kathleen Grant, Frackville

Grandchildren:  Christine wife of Nicholas Benson, Myrtle Beach, S.C. Amber wife of Tyler Mensch, Mifflinburg, Angela Kessler, Selinsgrove, and Douglas Bradley and his wife April, Bear, Delaware

Great Grandchildren:  Brielle Mensch and Zoey Benson

Nieces and nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, July 15, 2022, at 1 PM, in the Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, 11th and Walnut Streets, Ashland.  Celebrating Mass will be Rev. Giuseppe Esposito, pastor.  A viewing will be held in the church beginning at 12 Noon.  Interment will follow in the Brock Cemetery, Ashland.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a candle be lit or a prayer be said in thanksgiving for Theresa’s life.  Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome.com.
