Scott Smith Obituary

Its is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Scott smith, age 72, who peacefully ended his long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 30th 1953, and raised in Lavelle, the home he always knew. Though the fight was unimaginably difficult, Scott faced every day with strength, grace, and a sense of humor that brightened the lives of everyone around him. Scott was more than just a father, he was the dad everyone dreams of having. He was the most wonderful husband to his wife. He was the man that made you laugh until your sides hurt, who always found the good in others, and who filled every room he walked in with joy and happiness. Scott never had a bad thing to say about anyone, His kindness was endless. Scott worked at Ashland Foundry for 39 years, he was a respected leader.  An athlete through his time, Scott was an outstanding softball player for Lavelle, and an amazing wrestler for North Schuylkill. Stubborn for the win and fierce in spirit, but always humble in victory. He loved the Phillies and Eagles, you could always catch him in the recliner watching baseball. Beyond his athletic gifts he had a brilliant mind with so much wisdom. To everyone who knew him Scott was the quickest witted man, a great friend, and the best father. Scott leaves behind a family who adored him beyond measure, grateful for every memory, laugh, and lesson he taught. Though he will be missed, his love, humor, and strength will live on forever in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him. Rest easy, Scott. The world is better for having you in it.
