Ruth Snyder

Ruth Snyder, 76, former Gilberton and Ashland resident, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Pottsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Pottsville.  Born in Gilberton, October 11, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Florence Parker Deitzel.  Ruth was a graduate of the former Mahanoy City High School, class of 1966, and was employed many years as a personal care giver for many area families.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, and playing Bingo.  She was a member of the Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland.  Preceding her in death was her husband, Russell, passing in 2019, brothers; Edward, Wayne, and James Deitzel.

Daughter:  Tracey Mekosh, Willis, Texas

Daughter:  Jill, wife of Michael Zimmerman, Ashland

Daughter:  Noreen, wife of Bryan Slotcavage, Ashland

Sister:  Noreen Caddy, Virginia

Grandchildren:  Richard and Rebecca Barnes, Emilee and Chase Stotcavage

Great Grandchildren:  Sadie and Brinley Barnes

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Ruth’s life funeral service, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 AM, in the Bethany Congregational Church, 13th and Market Streets, Ashland.  Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Snyder, pastor.  Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.  Visitation in the church 10 AM untill service. Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome.com.
