Russell Snyder Jr. Obituary

Russell H. Snyder Jr., 77, of Oakland Ave., Ashland, passed away Friday February 1st at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, East Norwegian St., Pottsville.  Born in Fountain Springs, October 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Russell and Eleanor Ennis Snyder Sr.  He attended the former Ashland High School, and was employed as a truck driver, lastly for Fetterman Trucking Company, Wilburton, until his retirement. Russell attended Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and doing mechanical repairs on his cars and those of family members. Preceding him in death were sisters Patricia Kulenguskey and Pauline West.

Wife:  Ruth Deitzel, married 50 years

Son:  David Snyder, Ashland

Daughter:  Kelly Barnes, Ashland

Daughter:  Tracey Mekosh, Willis Texas

Daughter:  Jill wife of Michael Zimmerman, Ashland

Daughter:  Noreen wife of Bryan Slotcavage, Ashland

Brother:  Francis “Sam” Snyder and his wife Ann, Ashland

Brother:  Joseph Snyder and his wife Barbara, Wilburton

Brother:  John Snyder, Reading

Sister:  Lillian Cawthon, Mt. Carmel

Sister:  Rita Fisher, Freeland

Grandchildren:  Richard and Rebecca Barnes, and Emilee and Chase Slotcavage

Great Granddaughter:  Sadie Barnes

Nieces and Nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Saturday, February 9th, at 10 AM in the Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 13th and Market Streets, Ashland.  Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Snyder, pastor.  Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.  Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome.com.  The Richard W.
