Royal Miller Obituary

Royal A. Miller 91, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on September 30th, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.  Born in Beaver Township, Columbia County, May 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Frank and Colia Hunsinger Miller.  He was a graduate of Beaver Township High School, class of 1947, and the Bloomsburg State Teachers College, class of 1952, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.  His first teaching assignment was the Carlisle High School.  In 1955, he began a 38 year career at the Blue Mountain High School, teaching Math and Science and finally Driver’s Education where he enjoyed giving hundreds of students behind-the-wheel experiences. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Frackville, Ashland Lodge #294, Free and Accepted Masons, and the Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg.

Preceding him in death was a sister Dawn and her husband Randell Fritz, and a brother Errol Miller, all from Bloomsburg.

Survivors

Wife:  Adeline Cresswell Miller, married 68 years

Son:  Brad Miller and his wife Dottie, Frackville

Son:  Royal Miller, Spartanburg, S.C.

Four Grandchildren and Two Greatgrandchildren:  Megan wife of Alex Forsythe and their son Caden, Virginia, Brandon and daughter Rielly, Frackville, Royal Austin and Terry Miller, South Carolina.

A graveside Masonic funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Ashland Lodge, No. 294, F. & A. M., Adam Bernodin , Secretary, 2500 Centre St., Ashland, PA.  17921.
