Rosemarie Noon, 89, of Centre St., Ashland, former Mayor, passed away with family by her side, Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Providence Place Senior Living Center, Pottsville. Born September 4, 1933, in Millersville, Butler Township, she was the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Miller) Keller. She graduated Valedictorian from Ashland High School, class of 1951. Rosemarie was married in New Jersey, 1954, and she raised her five children, later working at the former Reidler Knitting Mill, Ashland, and as a legislative aide in the Ashland offices of E. J. Lucyk and Neil Goodman. Active in Ashland and Schuylkill County Politics she served as mayor of Ashland from 1995 to 2005. She was a member of the Ashland Mummers Club, being instrumental in helping the Ashland Boys Association tradition. Rosemarie was a founding member and treasurer of the Ashland Area Community Choir. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies and the North Schuylkill Spartans. She dedicated to attending family events, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren’s performances. Rosemarie was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland. In addition to her parents preceding her in death was her husband, Norbert J. Noon, passing November 26, 1995.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 11 AM, in St. Charles Borromeo Parish Church, 11th and Walnut Streets, Ashland. Celebrant will be Rev. Gregory Karpyn. A viewing will be held in the church, 10 AM until Mass. Interment will be private.
