Robert A. Renner Sr.

Robert A. Renner Sr., 74, of 1119 Poplar St., Kulpmont, former Mt. Carmel and Girardville resident, passed away Monday morning, January 8th, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He is now home with his loving wife, Rebecca, and his Lord and Savior. Born in Ashland, January 13, 1943, he was the son of the late Howard “Bim” and Blanche Fenkner Renner Sr. He was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, class of 1960, and served six years in the U.S. Army, receiving the National Defense Service Medal. Bob was a store manager and employee at area supermarkets, such as Bilo and T.J. Barts, later retiring from the former Goyne Pump Company, Ashland, as a security guard. He was of the Methodist faith.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 43 years, Rebecca Hornung Renner, passing June 13, 2014, and a brother, Howard Renner Jr., passing in February of 1980.

Daughter: Laurie wife of Richard Slater, Elkton, MD
Daughter: Jennifer wife of Thomas Dicus, Altoona
Sister: Donna wife of Tom Reese, Ringtown
Grandchildren: Brian, Marissa, and Brady Slater, Christina Dicus, and Robert Renner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Thursday, 11 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Homer, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Joan Brown. A viewing will be held Thursday morning, 9 AM until service. Internment with military honors will take place at a later date in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
