Robert J. Brennan

Robert J. Brennan, 80, of Elysburg, former Girardville resident, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025.  Born in the former Ashland Hospital, June 9, 1945, he was the son of the late James and Sarah (Green) Brennan.  He was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, class of 1965.  Bob had been employed for the Prestolite Battery Company, Reading, Fleetwood Motor Homes of Elysburg, as a fabricator, and lastly as a truck driver for the Burns Coal Company of Girardville, until his retirement.  He was an avid Phillies fan, enjoyed deer hunting,  and spending time with his family.  Preceding him in death was his wife Carol (Fertig) Brennan, passing May 14, 2013, sisters; Sarah Weyman, Betty and Irene Weikel, also, brothers; James, Thomas, Joseph, John, Richard, Raymond, and Mike “Mickey” Brennan.

Daughter:  Wendy wife of Stephen Harhigh, Girardville

Daughter:  Patricia wife of Roy Weikel, Girardville

Son:  Michael Long and his wife Mary Ellen, Girardville

Son:  Mark “Todd” Long, Girardville

Brother:  Vince Brennan, Frackville

Eight Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and many great friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Celebrate Bob’s Life, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St, Ashland.  Celebration Bob’s Life will be Rev. Dana Heckman Beil, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Ashland.  Internment will follow in Saint Joseh’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs.  A viewing will begin at 9:30 AM.  Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome.com to leave condolences.  The Richard W.
