Ramona Matalonas, 84, of Taylorsville, Ashland, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born in Buck Run July 26, 1938. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Rapali and a graduate of the former Cass Township High School, class of 1956. Following high school, she was employed as a secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Mines and Minerals, Harrisburg, and later for the Van Heusen Company, Pottsville. Ramona was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the former Saint Mauritius Roman Catholic Church, now Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland. She enjoyed singing and playing the organ with the choir, at the Chapel, and listening to polka music. Preceding her in death was a brother, Joseph Rapali and a sister, Eleanor Bergan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, May 31, 2023, at 11 AM, in the St. Charles Borromeo Church, 11th and Walnut Streets, Ashland. Celebrating Mass will be Rev. Giuseppe Esposito, pastor. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kulpmont. Visitation with family will begin at 10 AM, until Mass.
