Paul Brocker Obituary

 

Paul J. Brocker, 85, former Mahanoy City resident, passed away Sunday, November 6th, at the St. Luke’s Medical Center, Allentown. Born in Mahanoy City, he was the son of the late Fred and Sarah Doris Brocker. He was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School, class of 1950, and later served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman during the Korean conflict, attaining the rank of corporal. Paul was employed at the Mahanoy City Cigar Factory in quality control until its closing, later retiring in 1991 from the Eagle Shirt Company, Mahanoy City, where he was employed as a foreman.

He loved the games of baseball and basketball. Norte Dame was his favorite football team.

Paul was a member of the former St. Fidelis Catholic Church, now Saint Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, and he was a life member of Good American Hose Company, Mahanoy City.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Helen Becker and an infant sister, Dorothy Brocker.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, November 12th, at 10 AM in Saint Teresa of Calcutta Roman Church, 614 W. Mahanoy Ave., ,Mahanoy City. Celebrant will be Rev. Kevin Gallagher, pastor. Private interment with military honors will be held at a later date in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
