Mildred Kennedy Obituary


 

Mildred E. Kennedy, 95, former Gordon resident, passed away Tuesday, September 11th, at Providence Place, Pottsville.  Born in Putnam Connecticut, December 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna Dietz Schauer.  She was a graduate of Vineland High School, class of 1940. 

Mildred was an active member of the Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon, participating in Bible Study and Craft Bazars.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred R. Kennedy Sr., passing February 20, 2005, and a son Richard Kennedy, passing in November 12, 1983, also sisters; Ethel Raywood, and Edna O’Connell.

Survivors

Son:  Alfred R. Kennedy Jr., and his wife Ellie, Gordon

Daughter:  Marlene wife of Howard Koons, California

Daughter:  Diane wife of James Hamburg, Florida

Brother:  William Schauer and his wife Barbara, Florida

6 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren,

Nieces and Nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial funeral service in Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon, Saturday, September 15th, at 11 AM.  Officiating will be Susan Hocking.  A calling hour will begin at 10AM until service.  Private interment will be in the Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.  Memorials may be made to Simpson United Methodist Church, 119 E. Biddle St., Gordon, PA  17936.
