Martha Dorothy (Siegmund) Waldrop

Martha D. Waldrop, 92 of Canton, Ohio passed away Friday March 31, 2017 at the home of her granddaughter Melinda Hug and family in Pennsylvania. Born on October 10th 1924 in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Victor G. and Barbara Farkas Siegmund. Martha graduated from the McKinley High School, Canton, Class of 1942. She was an active member of the Canton Baptist Temple, and was proud of her long tenure as a Sunday School Teacher. On October 5, 1942, she married Harold E. Waldrop, and in 2016 they celebrated 74 years of marriage. She embraced her relationships through her work as a nurses aide and activities director at the Aultman Hospital Day Clinic. Martha enjoyed many hobbies including writing letters, painting, knitting, crocheting and feeding her outdoor birds.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Victor, Emil, Otto, Anthony, Ralph and 1 sister, Helena

A service will be held at 1:30PM on Friday, April 7 at the Reed Funeral Home-North Canton, 801 Pittsburg Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720. A time of visitation will be held from 12:30PM until service.

Officiating will be Rev. Delaney Young, pastor of Canton Baptist Temple. 

Interment will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery immediately following the service.
