Margaret Shields, 72, of Arch St. Ashland, passed away early September 6, 2016 at the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson St., Pottsville, surrounded by her loving family. Born at the former Ashland State General Hospital in Fountain Springs, on October 13, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Hranchock Marcinage. She attended St. Ignatius High School, Centralia. Following high school, Margaret was a machine operator at several local garment factories and retired from City Shirt, Frackville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James, who passed away September 16, 2014, sisters Anna and Lorraine Marcinage, and also brothers Charles and Steven.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service at 11A.M. on Friday, September 9 from the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre Street, Ashland. Officiating will be the Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shephard, Ashland. A visitation will be held from 9 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
