Josephine Hoffman

Josephine “Jo” Hoffman, 69, of Center Street, Aristes, passed away Thursday morning August 18, 2016 at home.  Born in Columbus, Ohio on September 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Col. (Ret.) George R. and Jeanette Stanton Oglesby, of Pine Bush NY. 

Jo attended the Grier School, in Tyrone, PA and was a graduate of the Summit Academy of Pittsburgh, class of 1964.  Jo excelled as a sales representative for the local radio station WPAM, and she was also a payroll agent for SafetyNet, Mount Carmel.  Jo retired from Family Home Medical as a payroll agent. 

Jo was a spiritual person, always giving a helping hand to whomever she crossed paths with, and that spirit lives on in her children and grandchildren.  She was awarded by the County of Delaware in recognition for her volunteer work in assisting the Women and Children In Crisis program.   Jo was an active member of the Aristes Fire Company, currently holding the office of Treasurer.  She was always volunteering her time for the fire company breakfast and fish fry fundraisers.

Husband: Edward, married 26 years

Daughter: Laura Herr and Curt Balcerzak, Colorado

Daughter: Candice Odenweller, Arizona

Son: Todd Mitros, New Philadelphia, PA

Stepdaughter:  Leah, and husband Christopher Cralle, Virginia

Stepdaughter:  Bobbi Colucci, Virginia

Sister:  Bobbi Jo, and husband Albert Rebennack, Maryland

Grandchildren: Trevor Mitros, Kade and Jordan Cralle

Nieces and Nephews

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service on August 27, 2016 at 11A.M. from the Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Rt. 42, Aristes, with her sister in law Jeri Iacono, officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made in Josephine’s memory to the Aristes Fire Company, 500 Columbia Avenue, Aristes, PA 17920.
