Joseph B. Yotko, 79, of Lavelle, passed away, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at his residence. Born Shenandoah, March 9, 1946, he was the son of Bernard and Anna Mallick Yotko. Joe was a graduate of Shenandoah High School, class of 1964. Following high school graduation, Joe joined the United States Air Force specializing in airplane mechanics, particularly C-130 cargo planes during the Vietnam War. He was employed for 37 years for Pennsylvania Power and Light Corporation, starting as a lineman, and a later as a heavy equipment operator and a environmental technician at P P and L Susquehanna Riverlands, until his retirement. Joe was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland, and the Ashland Elks Lodge #384, serving as the Inner Guard, and receiving the Elk of the Year award in 1991. Preceding him in death were his brothers, Bernard, Richard, and Robert Yotko.

Daughter: Christine wife of Mark Schulstad, Annapolis, Maryland
Son: Michael Yotko and his wife Hilary, Gordon
Three Grandchildren: Logan Schulstad, Brenden and Ryan Yotko

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Joe’s Life, Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11 AM, in the St. Casimir Cemetery, 86 Cemetery Road, Shenandoah Heights. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Beissel, pastor of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Ashland. Visitation with family will begin at 10 AM until service.
