Obituary

John W. Reed, 60, of Catawissa, a native of Mt. Carmel, passed away September 17, 2022, very peacefully, surrounded by family, at his residence, following a long battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Born in Fountain Springs, November 16, 1961, at the former Ashland State General Hospital, he was the son of late Walter and Rita McIntyre Bierowski.  He attended Mt. Carmel High School. He was employed as a Yard Jockey for Autoneum Automotive of North America, Bloomsburg, until his retirement.  John was a strong courageous man, a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was an avid hunter, animal lover, and very strong follower of Jesus Christ.  John attended the L.C.B.C. Church, Bloomsburg.

Survivors

Wife:  Beth Stecker Reed, married 34 years

Son:  Evan Reed and his wife Kendall, Catawissa

Son:  Hayden Reed and his fiance Kailee Gulley, Scottsdale, Arizona

Sister:  Mary Carol Bechtel, Ashland

Brother:  Robert Reed and his wife Gretchen, Marion Heights

Grandchildren:  Paisley and Brantley Jurinko
