John W. Quick, 76, of White Lane, Ashland, passed away May 5, 2022, at the Broad Mountain Nursing Center, Frackville. Born in Ashland, June 11, 1945, he was the son of the late John and Leona White Quick. He attended the former Butler Township High School, Fountain Springs. He later served in the U.S. Army, as an Expert Rifleman and a truck driver in Okinawa. During his service time, he also completed the Army’s cooking course in Fort Polk, Louisiana. John was employed 34 years as a truck driver for the Tri State Envelope Corporation of Ashland, until his retirement. He attended Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ, Ashland, and was a member of the American Fire Company, Fountain Springs, V.F.W. Post #7654, Ashland, and he was also one of the founders of the Broad Mountain Four Wheelers. John was an avid model train collector. Preceding him in death was a brother, Barry Quick, passing in January 3, 2022.

Nieces and Nephews
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life funeral service, May 10, at 11 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Dean Luther, pastor of the Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ, Ashland. Interment with military honors will follow in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
