John Clyde Loomis

John Clyde Loomis, 61, of South Philadelphia, passed away at home on May 5, 2016.  Born in LaCrosse, Wisonsin on November 28, 1954, John was the son of the late Arthur E. and Cleo Patrey Loomis.  John had a variety of jobs throughout life, but truly enjoyed the transportation industry.  After obtaining his Commercial Driver License, he had traveled from coast to coast, hauling with a tractor trailer.  He also drove limousines, and managed a trucking warehouse.  John’s true passion was his employment with ’76 Carriage Company of Philadelphia, specializing in carriage tours of Historic Philadelphia.

Throughout this work, he met the love of his life, Virginia K. Staudt, whom he married at the Free Quaker Meeting House on June 21, 1987.  Together they shared 28 years of marriage.
