Obituary

John E. Lloyd, 82, former Ashland and Maryland resident, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, East Norwegian St. Pottsville.  Born in Ashland, January 29, 1940, he was the son of Earl and Catherine Keller Lloyd.  He was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, class of 1957.  John was a seventeen year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War.  He was an Electrical Technician aboard the U.S.S. Garry, a Guided Missile Frigate. John later worked as a Materials Handler for Giant Foods in Maryland until his retirement. He attended Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ, Ashland, and was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local # 730, Washington D.C. Preceding him in death was a son James H. Lloyd, passing in 2008, a sister Jean Hubler, and a sister in law, Susan Lloyd.

Survivors

Wife:  Margaret Lloyd, married 59 years

Sister:  Dorothy Jeffrey, Elysburg

Sister:  Lorraine Rossberg, Shrewsbury

Brother: James Lloyd, Fountain Springs

Two Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews
