Joan L. Wagner, 83, of Smith Hollow Road, Nescopeck, passed away Saturday, September 9th, at the Berwick Retirement Village, Berwick.


Born in Taylorsville, Schuylkill County, April 21, 1934, she was the daughter of the late David and Letha Yoder Dechant. She was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School, class of 1952, and was employed as a medical secretary for the former Doctor John Runyan, D.O., Bloomsburg, until her retirement.


Joan loved cooking and canning, winning many ribbons at the Bloomsburg Fair for her Baked Goods, Canned Vegetables, and homemade Potato Chips.


She was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zenith, where she sang in the church choir. Joan was also the leader of T.O.P.S., Mifflinville, and a member of the N.R.A.


Preceding her in death was a sister, Genevieve Troutman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Wednesday, September 13th, 11 AM, at the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1488 Zenith Road, Nescopeck. Officiating will be Rev. Oliver Brown, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will begin at 9 AM until service. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 1488 Zenith Road, Nescopeck, PA, 18635.
