Helen C. Anthony, 92, former Frackville and Fountain Springs resident, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023, with family by her side, at her home in Whitehall. Born in Gilberton, February 26, 1931, she was the daughter of John and Anna Yonalunas Butswinkie. Helen graduated from the former Gilberton High School, class of 1948. She worked alongside her husband, Mike, when an extra pair hands was needed at the former Anthony’s Supermarket, Frackville. She was a member of the former Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church, Gordon. Helen was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the America’s – Count St. James 1029, Frackville Senior Citizens, the former Fountain Springs Country Club Auxiliary, and the Frackville Ladies of the Elks. Most of all, Helen was a loving wife of 72 years, mother, and grandmother.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 1 PM, in the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Parish, 49 North Line St., Frackville. Monsignor Daniel J. Yenushosky, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Whitehall, will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Butler Township, Frackville. A viewing will be held in the church, 11:30 AM until the time of Mass.
