Harold Esmond Waldrop Obituary

Harold E. Waldrop, of Canton Ohio passed away early Monday morning April 17th at the home of his granddaughter in Pennsylvania.  Born in Barberton, OH April 15, 1922, he died just 2 days after his last birthday, reaching the age of 95.  Harold was the son of the late Carlos K. and Lettie Nickerson Waldrop.  He graduated from the Timken Co. High School, Class of 1941.  Following high school, Harold entered the U.S. Air Force as an Airplane Armorer and Gunner, attaining the rank of Staff Sgt.  His expertise and extensive knowledge of the B26 Martin Marauder allowed him to accomplish over 63 flight missions in his tenure.  Harold then had a long career at Berger Manufacturing, specializing in steel works within the shipping department.  A long-devoted member of the Canton Baptist Temple, he was a deacon and coordinator of Summer Youth Camps for many years.  Harold was married for 74 years to the former Martha D. Siegmund Waldrop, who passed away just weeks ago on March 31st 2017. 


In additions to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Carlos " Bud " Waldrop, Az.

A time of visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until time of service with full Military Honors at 2PM Friday, April 21 from the Forest Hills Cemetery Chapel, with Rev.
