Emma Lorraine Ahrensfield (Leedom) entered the embrace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, April 13, 2026. She was 64 years old. She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Facer; her father, Samuel Leedom; her brother, Samuel Leedom, Jr.; and her grandson Evan Broscious. She is survived by her husband, William Ahrensfield; her brother, Thomas Leedom, and his wife, Janet; and her other brother, Gene Hoskin, and his wife, Cathy. Emma was a devoted mother and is survived by her children: Laura Lankford and her husband, Derek; Michael Harring and his wife, Nicole; Felicia Harner and her husband, Andrew; and William Ahrensfield and his wife, Chelsey.
Emma was a good friend to many in the community. She enjoyed sitting on a porch, sharing stories with friends and family over a pot of coffee. She opened her home to family and friends many times, treating her nieces, nephews, and her children's friends as her own. During the summer months, Emma enjoyed spending time at camp with her mother. She gave time to the Beaverdale Fire Company, where she served as the company secretary and treasurer for several years. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, making crafts, sewing, and needlepointing when the urge struck. She loved making Christmas ornaments and other decorations for her children. She especially loved caring for her dog, Gizmo.
She loved all these things, but her grandchildren were her greatest love. Emma was the proud grandparent of 13 grandchildren. She proudly attended soccer and football games, art shows, and chorus concerts. She loved coloring, crafts, and playing board games with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her world.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone involved with Emma’s care, especially the hospice and respiratory team at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital. Your attention and exceptional care were greatly appreciated.
