Earl Heiber Obituary

Earl “Chubby” Heiber, 92, of Walnut Street, Ashland, passed away surrounded by his family, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the York Terrace Nursing Center, Pottsville.  Born in Ashland, August 30, 1929, he was the son of Earl and Ruth Neiswinter Heiber.  He was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, class of 1947.  Earl proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict, attaining the rank of Seaman on the USS Northampton off the coast of Alaska.  He was employed for the former Acme Markets in Ashland and Pottsville as the produce manager until his retirement. Earl was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland. Preceding him in death was a daughter Kimberly Heiber, passing March 10, 1998.

Wife:  Helen Leonard Heiber, married 61 years

Son:  Earl Heiber, Hollidaysburg

Son:  Kenneth Heiber, Ashland

Son:  Stephen Heiber and his wife Karen, Kulpmont

Sister in Law:  Marguerite Felegi, Elizabethville

Brother in Law:  Wilmer Quick, Ashland

Nieces and Nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service with Naval Military Honors, May 24, 2022, at 1 PM in the St. Charles Borromeo Grotto, South 25th St., Ashland.  Officiating will be Rev. Brian Miller, pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish.  Memorials may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 1115 Walnut St. Ashland, PA  17921.  Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome.com.
