Dorothy E. Zangari

Dorothy E. Zangari, 93, of A Street, Girardville, passed away Saturday evening, June 8, 2024, at Providence Place of Pottsville.  Born in Tamaqua, April 14, 1931, she was the daughter of Burton and Neva Scheirer Deifenderfer. She was an honor graduate of the former Tamaqua High School, class of 1949.  Dorothy was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland.  She was employed as a cook for the North Schuylkill High School, Fountain Springs, until her retirement.  Preceding her in death was her husband Joseph, passing in 1985, sisters, Louise Coombs, Eleanor Rarick, and a brother Robert Deifenderfer.

Two grandsons, Daniel Zangari Jr., and Christopher Michael Zangari
One Great grandson, Sebastian Zangari, Nieces and Nephews
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dorothy’s life, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 11 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland.  Officiating will be Rev. Jeremy Smallwood, pastor of the Lavelle Church of the Nazarene. A viewing will begin at 10 AM until service time.
