Denise F. Fertig

Denise Frances Fertig, age 28, passed away peacefully after her long battle with breast cancer Sunday morning, April 22nd, 2018, at her sister’s home in FL.  Born in Pottsville, PA on February 3, 1990, Denise was the daughter of Robert Fertig and Jean Ann Fertig-Rhoten.  Denise graduated from North Schuylkill High School Class of 2008, after which she continued her studies in cosmetology at Empire Beauty School and worked at Progressive Business Publications.  She always had a smile to give everyone and unending love for her family, friends and animals.  Preceding her in death were maternal Grandparents Charles and Grace Hoskie; paternal Grandparents Harold and Martha Wink.

In addition to her parents, Denise is survived by sisters, Teresa (Terri) Fertig and fiance Jennifer Colangelo; Stacie and husband Daniel Kindt; Nicole and husband Brad Erb; a nephew and niece, Ethan Erb and Emily Erb.  

A funeral service to honor Denise will be held from the Richard W. Fritz Funeral home, 1323 Centre St Ashland, PA 17921 on Sat, April 28th 2018 at 3:30pm.  The Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil, pastor of the Good Shephard Lutheran Church, Ashland will officiate.  Viewing will be held from 2pm until the time of service.  Private Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ft. Springs at a later date.
