Constance J. Welker, 92, former Lavelle resident, passed away Tuesday, February 12th, at the Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center, Shenandoah. Born in Minersville, October 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late George and Martha Snyder Bolich. She was a graduate of the former Butler Township High School, class of 1944, and was employed as a medical secretary for the late Richard Feudale M.D., of Gordon, until her retirement. Connie was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, where she was active in the church choir, and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Active within the community, she was a member of the former Ashland State General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Past President of the Schuylkill County Medical Assistants, Past Secretary of the Gordon Area Senior Citizens, and a member of the advisory board of the Schuylkill Technology Schools, both North and South Centers.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Evert C. Welker, passing in November 1993, and a daughter Kathleen Schurr, passing in August of 1999.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Saturday, February 16th, at 11 AM in Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Laura Csellak, pastor. Interment will be in Citizen’s Cemetery, Lavelle. A viewing will be held in the church, Saturday morning, 10 AM until service time.
