Beth E. Neyer

Beth E. Neyer R.N., 69, of Bacon St., Pottsville, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 9th 201, at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown. Born in Pottsville, September 23, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Eleanor Doyle Neyer. She was a graduate of the Pottsville High School, class of 1964, and the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1967. Beth was employed as a Registered Nurse for the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic, and later at the State Correction Institution, Frackville.

At the time of the Three Mile Island nuclear accident, she was appointed Deputy Coroner for the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office, serving the Pottsville area, and she helped to develop the emergency plans for any evacuation of the Three Mile area residents to Schuylkill County.

Beth loved animals, she would take in strays and give them a home. She also served as a volunteer for the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.
