Barry Quick Obituary

Barry T. Quick, 69, of White’s Lane, Fountain Springs, passed away January 3, 2022, with family by his side, at his residence.  Born at home in a small farm house in Fountain Springs, October 14, 1952, he was the son of the late John and Leona White Quick.  He was a graduate of the North Schuylkill High School, class of 1971.  Following high school, Barry served with the U.S. Army in Germany as a Sharpshooter, specializing in M1 Rifles and Hand Grenades, earning the rank of Specialist 4.  He was employed for over forty years at the Tri Sate Envelope Company of Ashland, as a machine adjuster, until his retirement.  Barry was an avid lover of classic automobiles and motorcycles.  He especially enjoyed restoring and working on his 1968 Mercury Cougar, 1969 Mustang, and his Lamborghini kit car.  Barry was also a skilled wood worker and craftsman and has built many beautiful clocks in past years.  Most importantly, Barry was always a compassionate and loving husband to his late wife, and an amazing father to his son. He belonged to the Fat Bastards Motorcycle Club, Fountain Springs, Ashland V.F.W. Post 6754, and the Good Fellowship Club, Ashland. Preceding him in death was his wife, Deborah Decastro Quick, passing January 14, 2007.

Brother:  Ivan Quick and his wife Sandy, Ashland

Brother:  John Quick and his wife Ada, Fountain Springs

Grandson:  Eric Boyer, Fountain Springs

Granddaughter:  Amanda Boyer, Bloomsburg

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service, Saturday, 11 AM, January 8, 2022, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland.  Officiating will be Rev. Dana Heckman Beil, pastor of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland.  Internment with military honors will follow in the Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.  A viewing will be held in the funeral home beginning at 9 AM.  Memorials may be made to the Hillside S.P.C.A., Hillside Road, Pottsville, PA., 17901 or to the Help Net Ministries, 1005 Centre St., Ashland, PA., 17921.  Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome.com.  The Richard W.
