Anna C. Lex

Anna C. Lex, 97, Ringtown, passed away Saturday morning, June 9th, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill, East Norwegian St., Pottsville. Born in Pheeneyville, June 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret Frye Deebel. She was a graduate of the former Shepton High School, class of 1938. Anna was well known throughout the Ringtown Valley for her talent as a church organist, playing at all the area churches in her career. For the last 17 years, she was the church organist for St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ringtown, and Brandonville. She was employed as a Marrow Machine Operator for the former Connie Fashions Company, Shenandoah, until her retirement.
Anna was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ringtown, where she was active in the Dorcas Class, Bible Class, and the Ladies Aide.
She was a member of the Ringtown Senior Citizens, International Ladies Garment Workers Union, and she loved farm animals as well as growing her garden.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles Lex, passing in 1999, a daughter, Jane Shoup, a grandson, David Shoup, also, brothers, Harry, Russell, Henry, and Allen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, Thursday, June 14th, at 10:30 AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 106 W. Main St., Ringtown. Officiating will be Rev. Jay Serafin, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church Wednesday evening,
6 PM to 8 PM, and Thursday morning, 9 AM until service. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 106 W. Main St., Ringtown, PA., 17967.
