Andrew S. Messaros, 84, of Llewellyn, passed away Friday, September 21st, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill, East Norwegian St., Pottsville. Born in School Row, Branchdale, January 19, 1934, he was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Mayernick Messaros. He was a graduate of last class of the former Reilly High School, class of 1952, and a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish, Minersville. Andy was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having attained the rank of Private First Class with metals for Good Conduct and Carbine Rife Marksmanship. After his military time, he worked at the Lester Piano Factory, Lester, Pa., making grand pianos. Following his time making pianos, he and his brother John worked in area coal mines and owned a saw mill and coal breaker. He later owned and operated S and J Coal Company, A and J Coal Company, and lastly Three Way Coal Company of Black Heath.
For the next 10 years he worked in the coal breaker of the Sherman Coal Company, Hegins, until his retirement.
Preceding him in death were brothers John and Joseph Messaros and his sister Anne McMains.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Funeral Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, September 29 2018, 10 AM, in the Saint Matthew the Evangelist Parish Church, 139 Spruce St., Minersville. Celebrant will be Rev. Leo Maletz, pastor.
A calling hour will be held in the church beginning at 9Am until Mass.
