Irene Morgan

Irene M. Morgan R.N., 94, former Frackville and Fountain Springs resident, went to be with the Lord, Monday, February 26, 2024.  She was born August 20, 1929, at Suffolk, PA., to the late Oscar and Ethel Gregory Davis. On September 30, 1950, she married Andrew D. Morgan of Frackville.  Irene was a graduate of the former Mahanoy Township High School, class of 1947, and the Geisinger Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Danville, class of 1950.  Her professional career included working at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, and the Broad Mountain Nursing Center, Frackville.  Irene was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Orwigsburg Chapter # 424. She enjoyed camping and traveling.  Irene loved animals of all kinds, allowing her children to have all kinds of pets.  She loved playing the harmonica and in later years wrote songs and poems. Preceding her in death  was her husband, Andrew Morgan,  and stster, Jeane E. Lewis, and a brother, Ralph O. Davis.

Relatives and friends are invited to A Celebration of Irene’s Life funeral service, Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 10:30 AM, in Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Ashland.  Officiating will be Rev. Joan Brown.  A viewing will begin at 9:30 AM, with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 10 AM and followed by a Nurses Honor Roll Memorial service.  Memorials may be made to the Hillside S.P.C.A.
