Faye E.Taby Herb 85, of 601 E. Dewart Street, Apt 4, Shamokin was the daughter of the late Allen Taby and Kathryn (Sanders) Taby. Faye was a life-long resident of Shamokin and graduated from Shamokin High School class of 1956.She was an active member with her graduation class. In her youth, Faye was an avid roller skater at "Edgewood Park" and "Arena Gardens" in Shamokin. Faye had a keen mind for numbers and worked as a typist and teller at "West Ward Savings and Loan" in Shamokin. Faye then worked as the accounts receivable bookkeeper for the "Shamokin Shoe Corp". Faye and her companion, Don, were social butterflies. They dined at all the local restaurants frequently. They loved shopping for clothing and were always impeccably dressed. Faye and Don were always together and they both loved going to numerous clubs and organizations. They enjoyed local bands and "Sing Along with Vic" where Don always performed his rendition of the song "My Way". In the summer Faye and Don could always be seen at the local church picnics and block parties and at Knoebel's Bandshell to see the entertainment. They had a large circle of friends from Monday night Skating at "Sunset Skating Rink" in Shamokin Dam and the also "The Skatery" in Pillow. Faye loved animals and was devoted to her family. Faye truly loved life and fought with determination to live every last minute of it. Faye is survived by her daughter, Debra Zanella of Marion Heights, Her son-in-law, Robert Zanella of Mount Carmel. Her grand-daughter, Crystal Zanella of Boothwyn, PA. Her sister, Deanna Rozinski of Shamokin. Several nieces and nephews and cousins. She was proceeded in death by her parents and infant sister, Betty and her companion of over 30 years, Donald L. Metzinger. Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Faye's Life, Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11 AM in the Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 35 S. Second Street, Shamokin. Officiating will be Rev.
